FASTCAT/GREENCAT 445 World cruiser

FASTCAT GREENCAT 445
Manufactured with the epoxy resin infusion process, this cat represents a price-luxury-performance breakthrough long awaited by catamaran enthusiasts. At the helm of this sleek Lavranos design you will be amazed at the ease with which you can cruise along in the mid to high teens. After you reluctantly give up the helm and go inside for refreshments you will be astonished that a boat can go this fast and have so much interior luxury. After a relaxing snooze in one of the two huge state rooms you go out for your turn at the helm (assuming you can pry the fingers of the current helmsman off the wheel) and find it hard to believe you were so comfortable inside while effortlessly sailing at astonishing speeds.

Check out the details of this design and see why we believe it is the breakthrough catamaran in this size range.

TOUR
With a final length of 44 feet or 13.40 meters and a waterline length that has been increased with 1 foot 1 inch to 42 foot 6 inches or 12.99 meters, FastCat/GreenCat 445 performs now even better than before.

WATERLINE
The waterline length is made longer and this will increase cruising speeds. This is done by an extension of the bows with 6 inches all the way from below the water line to the top of the bow. This makes the entrance finer, from a 60 mm radius to a 10 mm radius. The resistance decreases slightly. The bows give less spray at speeds above 13 knots and this happens frequently with sailors that like speed.

BOW EXTENSION
The present bow nose will stay but the extension is fitted on it. This has the advantage that if the boat hits something and damage occurs, the present bow with all reinforcements will still be in place while the front section can be replaced and the journey can still be completed without any problem.

INTAKE
The intake of the bow at the waterline is now 3/8 of an inch wide or 10 mm compared with 60 mm before and is made 20 mm basalt and kevlar.
This will substantially cut the spray that we had before with speeds of 13 knots and more, the resistance and wake have also decreased.

SUGAR SCOOPS
In the rear, the lowest step of the sugar scoop is optionally extended by 2 ft or 600 mm to increase the diving platform to a length of 1.20 meters or 4 ft.

HEADROOM
Recently we have increased the headroom to 2,04 meters ( 6 ft 8 inches) inside.

This was done because of demand of our clients. The complete deck was raised with 50 mm ( 2 inches ) and besides the raised headroom, all other locations on board have benefited, cabinets are higher, the space above the beds was raised and the seating in the saloon was raised increasing storage area and this improved the visibitly outside.

SIDEVIEW
The portholes have been moved below the rub rails now to give a sleeker and longer appearance and to improve the view to the outside for shorter people.

PORTHOLES
All this gives the cat a cleaner  look and it greatly improves visibility. Optionally, 6 portholes can be placed per side instead of the standard 5, the extra porthole being the third in the bedrooms.

BETTER LOOKS
The looks of the FastCat/GreenCat will enhance because of the longer and lower look.
